Vilnius University Drama Theatre troupe "Minimum" was a theatre whose creative search ground was the interpretation of literary works. "Minimum" build classic and contemporary plays featuring a youthful pulse. Prose and poetry come alive on the stage. Director Rimantas Venckus has said that the actors are the grand Minimum without which the theater cannot exist.

"Estonian critic B. Tuh said that "The Concept of Hamlet" at the Grodno Festival was one of the few examples of a troupe looking for his theatrical language without mimicking or being timid. It is common at the best university theatres around the world." E. Vitkienė, 1988.

The former longtime head of VU Drama Theatre R. Venckus shares his thoughts: "The university theatre must educate young people in every way, develop their skills, broaden their circle of interests, and provide certain knowledge and skills that will not only improve the uptake of the knowledge provided by direct studies but also have a positive impact on the future success of their careers. Young actors create a certain model of the world by being part of plays. However, it is much more important that they develop themselves by improving and developing their personality during that process." Rimantas Venckus explains the principles of theatre activity in detail in his book "Creation and Education: Director at University Theatre."
