Improv Studio – Unleash Your Creativity!

Improv Studio is a lively, inventive, and playful group of students exploring the art of improvisation under the guidance of actor and educator Vytautas Kontrimas. Established in the 2021/2022 academic year, this initiative quickly became a hit and culminated in the first-ever Improv Battle at Vilnius University. Improvisation is much more than acting—it’s about learning to think on your feet, communicate effectively, and express yourself with confidence. Through engaging theater games, you’ll develop essential skills useful for teamwork, presentations, and leadership roles. No prior theater experience is needed—just bring your enthusiasm and enjoy the journey of self-discovery and creativity!

Artistic director: Vytautas Kontrimas

Improv Start – New Year, New Start!

VU Improv Studio invites you to Improv Start — a fun, playful, laughter-filled evening. The event will take place on September 12, at 19:00 at VU Theater Hall (Universiteto St. 3), where you will have the opportunity to happily integrate into the academic year with the rhythm of improvisation!

Theater improvisation embodies thousands of theater games that develop our communication skills, the ability to speak persuasively, rationally and stress-free in various situations. Improvisation develops all the skills needed in teamwork, in exams and defenses, in a leadership position.

"Improv Start" is an interactive performance of actors and students, in which every student attending the event will be able to participate with their own ideas!
Are you are interested? Do you want to join? Welcome!

During the evening, students will have a fun and extraordinary opportunity to learn about ways to spend their leisure time while studying in Vilnius University.

Storytelling Nights – Make Yourself Comfortable, Relax and Enjoy the Stories!

Saloon.jpg

Storytelling Nights at Vilnius University Cultural Center bring the ancient art of storytelling into a modern student space. Every month, throughout the academic year, students and guests gather to share and listen to personal stories on different themes and occasions. No two evenings are ever the same — you’ll laugh, reflect, and maybe even see yourself in someone else’s tale.

This initiative is organized together with Sal(i)onas, a community founded more than five years ago with the goal of creating a cozy space in Vilnius for stories to be told freely. We believe storytelling helps us understand ourselves and others, build empathy, and, most importantly, have fun.

Before every Storytelling Night, you can join one-hour speed consultations (at 18:00) to get advice on your story and build the confidence to share it on stage. If you’ve always wanted to tell a story but felt shy — this is your chance!

Artistic host: Milda Varnauskaitė

Where to find Storytelling Nights?
Monthly, every first tuesday at 19:00; VU Small Aula Café “Morgas,” Universiteto St. 3 (entrance through the Grand Courtyard)
