“Voices in the Room” is a Forum Theatre performance that emerged from an intensive series of improvisation workshops organised by the Vilnius University Culture Centre in collaboration with the VU Improv Studio. The workshops were led by UK-based actress and director Angela Dezlein.
Over several days, participants explored improvisation, ensemble work, and Forum Theatre methods while working with real-life situations. These situations focused on conflict, power dynamics, choice, and moments where decisions are not clear-cut and consequences are complex and sensitive. For more information...
Forum Theatre differs from traditional theatrical forms. There is no finished story and no single “right” answer. Instead, audiences are invited into a live, shared process. Short scenes based on real experiences are presented on stage, then deliberately paused, opened up, and reimagined together with the audience.
Spectators become active participants: they are invited to suggest alternative responses, replace characters, or step onto the stage themselves to test different possibilities. It is a space to explore the question: what might happen if we acted differently?
“Voices in the Room” creates an open field for dialogue, imagination, and collective thinking. No theatre experience is required—only curiosity, openness, and a willingness to listen. You may observe, intervene, or simply reflect on what unfolds before you.
Come as you are.
Sit, watch, interrupt, step into the scene – or don’t.
Your voice in this room already matters.
